At the Dubai International Boat Show meeting with the executive to discover the new Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63

While attending the Dubai International Boat Show, we talked with Martino Picotti, General Manager of Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai, who gave us an insight into Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, the new luxury yacht born from the collaboration between Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group shipyard.

A passionate, dynamic and results-oriented leader, he unveiled to us all facets of this incredible project.

How was this partnership born?

We are very proud to present it today at the Dubai International Boat Show, this yacht is very special to us since it's born from a collaboration between the Italian Sea Group under the brand Tecnomar for Lamborghini. Both companies cooperated to create this masterpiece of design, luxury and engineering, that perfectly reflects the image of Lamborghini sport cars and as a distributor we are delighted to offer this experience to our customers and other prospects both on the road with our sports cars and now in the sea with this yacht.

This happens to be the first Lamborghini-branded boat, and everything revolves around the number 63...

Yes, it's also a limited edition, the number 63 is important since 1963 is the year that Lamborgini was founded. Only 63 yachts will be produced overall, the size of the vessel is 63 feet and this number is also very important for the Tecnomar brand since it's the fastest yacht they ever produced, with a remarkable performance of, you guessed it, 63 knots. We already received a very positive response form the prospects we shared this project with and we are hoping for a similar outcome for this event.

The design is inspired by the Sián FKP 37, with whom it shares design and color scheme right?

Exactly! It's a very special limited edition model, the yacht mirrors a lot of design elements of the car and other vehicles designed by Marcello Gandini, also the launch colors of the two are the same. A modern reimagining of those cars designed by Gandini in the 60 and 70 like the world famous Miura and Countach. It's very clear once you see the exterior design, but also the interior! The usage of carbon fiber and leather, trademark for the brand,is very extensive in the interior. The cockpit seats and steering wheel look similar to the ones featured in the sports car. Even the engine start buttons are exactly the same, in this case the engines are two and they power two powerful thrusters producing 2,000 horsepower each for a total of 4000 horsepower overall, quite unique indeed.

In terms of design language we can clearly see the signature elements, the hexagon and the Y, in both models. For this exhibition we have prepared a scale model that already gives a good understanding of what the actual yacht will look like.

Do you know how many boats will be available for the Asian and Dubai market?

The production is still in allocation. We can only provide a limited number but I'm sure there will also be a lot of demand , since the vessel perfectly incapsulates the lifestyle of Dubai.

Every aspect of this yacht is customizable right?

Yes! Everything is fully customizable and personalized, and we can employ the same program ad personam that is already available for Lamborghini sports cars, which means that there's more than 400 exterior colors from which to choose from and a verity of leather and other materials for the interior, and Lamborghini owners can have it made in the same color an design of their car, quite a nice feature!

As for other yachts, will we see more models from you in the future?

For now we haven't receive any official communication for future plans but I believe that the success of this model will pave the way to some more in the future.
