Lancel, house of French savoir-faire and leather goods, has nurtured since 1876 a distinct taste for elegance and whimsy. Ninon, a bestseller and ambassador for the brand, was born in 2018, the year the boutique opened in the Dubai Mall, 1st floor, Star Atrium. The most iconic Lancel design is being honoured with two unique limited edition styles crafted from exquisite leathers.

Styles to be tamed in an exclusive designed and soft case: rounded alcoves, new sea green colour chart and jewellery spots, the boutique was remodelled only just a year ago and delightfully highlights Lancel’s bags and accessories, and soon its shop windows will be displaying items from the new Spring/Summer 2023 collection. This is a great opportunity to discover it in advance. Lancel - which is also partner of Casa Ferrari for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the United Arab Emirates - has designed for next summer a journey one takes with closed eyes, embodied by beaches and the desert, cool districts, elegant palm trees and mythical sunsets. It is the spirit of Lancel’s Leather and Eyewear ‘California Dream’ Spring/Summer collection, a sensory immersion into a soft and spirited California. For this edition, nature in all its glory creates a nasturtium-red common thread. Prints in innovative shapes, materials and patterns convey a playful reinterpretation of Lancel’s repertoire.

Leather shares the spotlight with raffia, rope and cotton, crude artisanal materials that instill at the heart of Lancel’s savoir-faire a sensual ease.

In a joyous conjuration of the 60’s, an array of colours converse with optical black and white, nature with space aluminum. Pastels rub shoulders with intensity, bold candy and neon, the surprise guest of this collection.

Meticulously crafted metal pieces inscribe the audacious modernity of the season. Amongst the new shapes, a bowling bag stretched out into a baguette, minimalist and deliciously quirky. And an intensely feminine carryall presents a cambered biker feel divinely enhancing its refinement.

Another newcomer is Lancel’s mini, a casual format, available in each line. This season, Lancel presents three lines, each with a strong personality.

Chic and feminine Rodéo offers a display of saddler details, fashioned handles, buckles and ties. Structured at first glance only, leathers follow the steps of the curious ambitious.

Young, free and easy going, Caméléon adapts to whom will choose it. As the day and the mood evolve, it adjusts its register and how it is carried, closely aligning with a way of life and a way of travel.

Iconic and poetic, Idylle reveals with a clasp-padlock duo a story stored like a treasure; the idyll between Alphonse and Angèle, Lancel and Paris, Paris and love. The jeweled lock once worn by Angèle around her neck is now an audacious bag with a precise triangular shape, connecting women to Lancel.

Lancel’s iconic bags explore radiant whereabouts. 1er Flirt dressed in crochet, Roxane exuding in a croc-neon dress, Ninon adorned in reinvented or elegant silver light denim trimmings. With a raffia fan or cotton locks blowing in the wind, Cabas libre surrenders to a radiant maximalist version, and the very functional Summer Tote summons the sea with a magical retro surf logo.

In the style and aura of the Eyewear collection lies an impossible lightness set with 60’s strokes. Restrained metallic and Hollywood glamour graze one another without outshining each other.

Every frame whether geometric, made from thick acetate or wrapped in crystals, underlines in a unique way a face, a character.

Metallics, a signature of 2023, return in playful shapes and with pastel lenses. In a clear nod to fashion, cat-eye lines assert a sensual retro modernity. Graphic black and white frames perfectly fit a modern Lolita who beneath her dreamy appearance nurtures a strong personality. Contemporary divas will not be seen without their ultra feminine frames worn day and night without it ever being too much.

Striking or made from thin metal paired with a charm, the temples take on their role very seriously. Meanwhile chains openly follow the collection’s steering, opting for an outpour of coloured Plexiglas and transparent neon, or for a minimalist scenario, elegant as ever.
