First Michelin Dubai awards ceremony crowns 3 Italian restaurants
A real triumph of stars and mentions for Italian cuisine in the first edition of the Michelin Guide in Dubai.
A total of 69 restaurants covering no less than 21 types of cuisine: 14 restaurants receive the Bib Gourmand, 9 One Michelin Stars and 2 Two Michelin Stars. The Emirates city is home to thousands of restaurants offering an endless variety of cuisines from around the world - from the finest to street food; talented international and local chefs have been selected by the MICHELIN Dubai Guide to offer a fresh perspective and new insights into the diversity, creativity and multicultural nature of Dubai's gastronomic offerings.
Italy shines in the MICHELIN Dubai Guide with three starred restaurants out of a total of 11:
Il Ristorante – Niko Romito: Two MICHELIN Stars
Armani Ristorante: A MICHELIN Star
Torno Subito: A MICHELIN Star
The selection was made according to the tried and tested methodology applied by the MICHELIN Guide inspectors, based on a set of five universally applied criteria, including the quality of ingredients, craftsmanship in the kitchen, harmony of flavours, the personality of the chef through cooking, and consistency over time and across the entire menu. These criteria are applied to all selected restaurants to help restaurateurs around the world make an informed choice between high-quality options.
